Enticed by fraudulent gyms advertising $14.95/month?

This is one I just had to get off my chest…so thanks for hearing me out.
Having started Belmar Fitness in 1972, I have seen literally 100’s of fitness facilities come and go…a few were good clubs, but the vast majority were scamming, frauds…just as the gyms today that advertise $20/month, $14/month, and now the final insult to any sane persons intelligence $10/month. Even a moments consideration will make it obvious that it is impossible to do legitimate business at these ridiculous prices…and it is. I’ve seen it three times before in my 40 years in this industry…these ridiculous price wars signal a major correction in the industry…within 2 years…three at most…all of these large chains advertising these unsustainable prices will be gone…out of business. They can’t pack enough bodies onto their gym floors to pay their rent, payroll and utilities. So they will be gone…good riddens…but will have done major harm yet again to a basically good and necessary industry…health and fitness…by burning and fleecing tens of thousands of consumers out of 1000’s of dollars that they paid in advance or were legally bound to pay on long term enforceable contracts. What a crying shame!

The Players in this game…WOW 14.95/month…Retro…$19.95 and more recently $15.95/month…Planet Fitness…$9.95/month…Be careful not to get suckered into their long term, non breakable contracts…by their highly trained and skilled salespeople…wouldn’t it make more sense to train people in proper exercise than to sell 3 year and longer memberships?

Ok, so what do we charge at Belmar Fitness? Members pay about $49/month in 3 month increments…and get the only Medx equipment in central NJ…in an uncrowded facility…and instruction in SuperSlowBurn exercise…the only facility in NJ with certified instruction. Our personal training clients pay as little as $30 per session and get a free gym membership included with that price…as well as free Eat to Live and Paleo Nutrition advice…this is real…it is sustainable…fair for everyone and the results are unobtainable anywhere else…recent success stories involve a 6 month 110lb fat loss and a 55 lb 4 month fat loss.
Ever hear the phrase…”If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”…think about that if you or any of your friends ever considers one of these cheap price iron clad contracts.
